Teenagers who suffer from depression are often times misdiagnosed with something else which causes many issues mentally and physically. My essential question for this topic is, should teenage depression be classified as mental or hormonal? When further into my research have found that that it is often times difficult to diagnose someone with depression because the symptoms are often times similar to “normal teenage behavior,” in other words caused by hormones in the teens body. However, this causes a major issue. If the teen is diagnosed with something that is not hormonal when it could be mental it could cause the teen to have worst symptoms. Those symptoms include stress, anxiety, apathy, and isolation.
